Great Bowden Boxing Day Meet |
I've used acrylic paint on 16x20 inch stretched canvas for this one, which took two months from start to finish. The video below shows how the work came to fruition with each stage of the work.
Until 2010, I had done no painting since I took a watercolour course or two at our local school in the late 1990's. In 2009, I made a New year's resolution that I would settle down and do some painting, but it never materialized. So early this year when I said to my wife that I was going to pick up my paint brushes again, she just laughed! Well, I meant it this time, hence this blog. It's a revival of my inner most desire to paint, in fact, it's my art revival!

Frank, you amaze me with your paintings.. So much detail, so much to see .. Everything in proper perspective.
ReplyDeleteI've watched the video .. and how it came together. .. thanks..
Thanks for your comments Barbra. My paintings don't always sell very well so I must be doing something wrong! It's a good job then that I paint for pleasure more than anything else.
DeleteWow, Frank! This is beautiful! So well done. I especially love your hounds. The one on the left in the foreground, with his haunches so muscular and developed...it reads very well! Nice composition!
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry if you were misled by the 'acrylic dreams'...it never occurred to me as I was thinking about the last part! Thanks for your comment!
Thanks Raena. Two of the hounds in the foreground were not in the original photo - I added them from other photos to create a better composition. It can be a bit tricky to get the sizes correct when you do this but it's worth persevering.
DeleteI love your talent. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments Linda
